These traditional “beer felts” were originally used as beermats. They were also placed on top of the glass to stop insects getting in the beer, as well as soaking up spillages or overflows. These authentic felts are made from 100% 5 mm thick woollen felt. They can be washed by hand in lukewarm water, and they should then be dried flat to retain their shape.
